e-GDS and Expedia develop pilot project to provide better management capabilities to hoteliers

The project consisted of developing a set of value-added functionalities that allow e-GDS users to safely and conveniently:

• Modify the dates and values of reservations made through Expedia after the check-in date.
• Cancel reservations before the arrival of guests.
• Mark them as no-show if they do not show up.

These new functionalities, accessible through the e-GDS Channel Manager, are extremely useful in avoiding discrepancies between the e-GDS and Expedia systems, reducing the time spent on bureaucratic reservation management by the units.

Additionally, these functionalities allow users to apply cancellation and no-show fees according to the terms and conditions agreed with Expedia, without leaving the e-GDS Backoffice, enabling greater operational efficiency.

Now, an e-GDS user can do everything exclusively from the e-GDS Channel Manager: in addition to the existing functionalities of creating promotions directly on Expedia without accessing the channel's backoffice, these new reconciliation and management features are already available to e-GDS users from any Expedia booking page in the e-GDS backoffice.
