The latest edition of TecnoHotel Portugal magazine features a special dossier on Revenue Management: "An optimised view of the business", signed by journalist Marta Quaresma Ferreira, and with the participation of Ana Sofia Castelo - General Manager e-GDS.

Along the way, revenue management establishes itself as a core technique for analysing metrics, data, implementing the necessary practices for a better decision about the business." This is how Marta Quaresma Ferreira introduces the dossier on Revenue Management: "An optimised view of the business", where you can find several opinions from experts from different areas on this topic.

The constant changes in the tourism sector and the new characteristics and demands presented in this sector lead to the constant need to create and offer a better service to meet the growing expectations of customers.

(...) Alongside strategies, the emergence of technologies is fundamental for accessing and analysing data efficiently, as is the case with Business Intelligence tools. But not only that: "If we tend to think of analysing indicators such as OCC, ADR, REVPAR, the fact is that marketing inputs (trends, channels, consumption, devices) are increasingly relevant and essential for strategic revenue decisions. Without customer focus, it is not possible to optimise revenue", explains Ana Sofia Castelo, General Manager E-GDS.

(...) She added that "Social, demographic and economic changes have become daily challenges for hoteliers". "Guests' priorities are forcing hoteliers to systematically adjust their processes and their offers, so being aware of the market as a whole, knowing how to choose information sources and responding to revenue management in an agile way is even one of the main challenges facing revenue managers".
